Corpus Christi Community, Greenvale is pleased to share some images of our scheduled 24-million-dollar redevelopment of the community’s facilities which are scheduled to commence mid 2017. This development has been achieved with support from the Australian Government and Villa Maria Catholic Homes to ensure that the community can continue to meet an ever growing demand for services well into the future.
For the last few months, two of our residents David and Sia have been volunteering for two days per week with Helping Hands Mission in Airport West. Helping Hands Mission provide emergency support for individuals and families across Victoria who are experiencing hardship. They operate a number of opportunity shop’s with funds raised from their stores going towards providing material aid and food relief to vulnerable members of our community.
The 2017 year will be a time of significant change and innovation for Corpus Christi Community Greenvale. An important aim for us this year is to better and more regularly engage with those organisations and individuals who are either directly engaged in or actively support and follow our work. Our capacity to provide care and assistance to our residents relies on the contribution of staff, suppliers, consultants and service personnel.
Momentum with the redevelopment project continues to build with current timelines indicating that tenders from construction companies will be invited in early March 2017
On Sunday 4th September, Corpus Christi Community in Greenvale celebrated the canonisation of its founder, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who was declared a Saint by Pope Francis at St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City.
Celebrations were held on site at Corpus Christi Community, Greenvale with Archbishop Denis Hart participating in leading a prayer service as well as an official ‘breaking ground’ ceremony to mark the $24 million redevelopment of Corpus Christi’s facilities, scheduled to commence in early 2017.
